Come along and support the Birthday Celebrations at Gwrych Castle on 15th and 16th June.
Commemorating our 200th birthday and also the historic purchase of the estate 1 year ago, we are remembering our past and looking forward to our future!
Acoustic music will be played both days in the newly cleared Outdoor Theatre area by local musicians and we will have a variety of stalls and displays to entertain our guests. Facepainting and crafts are also on offer for our younger visitors, along with our new ‘Castle Trail’ – and a chocolate surprise for completing it.
Eric and Friends will be attending with their exotic animal display, and our resident magician will be performing up close tricks to amaze you! Come, see and handle a display of unique artefacts from the First World War and try the game that the troops played to get them fit for service.
On Sunday we have traditional morris dancers performing, a Victorian houskeeper in the chapel to discuss how Charlotte Randles used to keep Gwrych in order in 1891, and writing workshops in the Countess’ writing room.
Our ‘pop up’ cafe will be available with light refreshments and our friendly staff and volunteers on hand to explain our work and the history of Gwrych.
Enjoy a beautiful day at Gwrych, (perfect for a Father’s Day out!) in our spacious grounds and hauntingly beautiful gothic castle. We are dog and family friendly too, so all are welcome!
Standard admission fees apply £5 per adult and £2:50 per child (under 3’s free). Some activities will require a small additional charge.
