Whether marking a child’s first Christmas or honouring an age-old family tradition, a visit to the Victorian Christmas Grotto at Gwrych Castle is the perfect way to start the festive season, as well as an opportunity to make special memories that will be remembered forever.
Our vision is to secure a vibrant and sustainable future for Gwrych Castle and the built structures within its designed landscape, making them appealing, accessible and inspiring places for new and existing audiences to visit, support and enjoy, now and for years to come.
Gwrych Castle is a major landmark in Abergele, and along the North Wales coast, so the desire of The Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust is to include as many local people in the work, restoration and function of the Castle as possible. Diane Woodrow, our Education and Community Engagement Officer, has been busy getting many local people involved. Wednesday 4th July was the culmination of six months of hard work with 16 pupils from years 8&9 at Emrys ap Iwan school.
After 50 years of uncertainty and having fallen into a perilous state-of-disrepair, the future of one of Wales’s most important and fairytale-like country houses, that was set to become a royal residence, is now secure.
