Applications are invited for the new role of Evening Supervisor at Gwrych Castle.

Gwrych Castle is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to take the organisation forward to meet the challenges and increasing opportunities at the castle.

You will need to be comfortable communicating calmly and productively with colleagues, contractors, and members of the public. The role primarily provides evening supervision of the castle during the transition to evening opening. This will be a varied role that involves helping with admissions/ticket checks, clearance work, and event setup, ensuring the site is secure, and ensuring that internal spaces are unlocked/locked and prepared as needed.

No administrative, financial, management or business skills are needed. The right person for the job will be able to provide unwavering support to colleagues and commit to following directions well. Some manual handling will be involved, such as clearance work, maintenance, moving tables, heavy lifting of drinks, erecting gazebos, and helping with event setup, and the role would not suit someone who may struggle with this.

Given the nature of the role, basic physical fitness is required. The role may also involve interacting with inebriated or otherwise affected individuals, so the ability to remain calm in the face of conflict or escalating situations will be essential.

Experience of working in a similar role or background is preferred but not required. Familiarity with historic estates and basic electrical/construction knowledge will also be beneficial; full training will be provided.

The role will fall under the management of the Estate Team, although full cooperation with all castle colleagues and management will be expected.

If you feel you may be suitable for the position or would like to discuss the matter further, please forward your CV to dawn.gwrych@gmail.com to start the application process.

Closing date for receipt of applications: 12 noon on Monday, 8th June 2026.

Interviews will be arranged ASAP.

Work Location: On-site at Gwrych Castle.
