APRIL
27th April 2024 | In-house Ghost Hunt
There have been many reports of ghostly encounters at Gwrych Castle over the years, from a lady dressed in red demanding people to “get out!”, to staff witnessing ghostly faces in the windows and hearing horrifying noises from the marble staircase! You can experience this for yourself during one of our popular ghost hunt events.
Vigils will take place in and around the Castle using a range of paranormal equipment; including dowsing rods and K2 meters. You will also have the opportunity to take part in table tipping and divination if you wish.
28th April 2024 | Psychic, Tarot and Healing Evening

19th May 2024 | I’m A MINI Get Me Out Of Here
The perfect opportunity to admire a range of MINI’s of all ages and styles, as we’ll be joined by various MINI groups from all over the country and the cars will be displayed at the castle.
So, if you’re a car enthusiast or just a fan of MINI’s, come and join us! This is included within our general ‘Admission Tickets’ and will be part of our visitor route.
25th – 27th May 2024 | Living History: HMS Wales
Embark on a journey through time at Gwrych Castle during our Living History event hosted by HMS Wales Reenactment Society, who are a Naval Reenactment group portraying the lives of those who served in the Royal Navy during the age of sail and Admiral Nelson’s career; 1805.
Step back in time and immerse yourself in hands-on experiences, from musket firing, canon display, games, dressing up and Nelson’s Navy Challenge. If that’s not enough, witness the real fire power of the ship’s cannon, and cheer on either our Royal Marines or the Sailors!
31st May 2024 | Torch Light Tour
The Torchlight Night Tour at Gwrych Castle offers a captivating blend of history and reported ghostly activity!

JUNE
27th June 2024 at 7pm | Frederick Hervey-Bathurst – War, Faith and Poetry: the origins of the Gothic Revival
Gwrych is a masterpiece of the Gothic Revival, but where did this movement come from and what did it mean?
In this talk, Frederick will examine the poetry and and prejudices of these debates which fomented the emergence of the Gothic Revival as one of the foremost styles of the 19th Century.

30th June 2024 | Summer Artisan Fair
Explore our scenic visitor route on what will be an incredible day for all the family with Artisan treasures galore, with delicious treats to buy such as tea & cake along with hot street food, a pop-up bar and live music to enjoy throughout the day!

25th July 2024 at 7pm | 25th July: Rob Chambers – Gwrych Castle: The Vision for Restoration
During this lecture, Rob Chambers will be unveiling the vision for Gwrych Castle’s Castle Core project, and will discuss his plan on achieving this.
Chambers Conservation have unparalleled experience of working on complex significant historic sites, securing, and delivering successful National Lottery Heritage Fund projects and supporting third-sector clients along what is, potentially, a long but rewarding journey.

AUGUST
15th August 2024 at 7pm | Dr Shaun Evans – Researching Welsh Country Houses & Estates
We will be joined by Dr Shaun Evans who is a Director of the Institute for the Study of Welsh Estates (ISWE) and Lecturer in Early Modern and Welsh History at Bangor University.
We will reveal more about the nature of his lecture in due course.
29th August 2024 at 7pm | Dr Erin Lloyd-Jones – Hoards, hillforts and human remains – The archaeological context of Gwrych
The monument and landscape of Gwrych Castle still can’t fail to impress today, but look even further back in time and the landscape surrounding Gwrych has been home to a number of equally impressive monuments and activity over thousands of years.
Erin will explore some of the archaeological discoveries around Gwrych’s environs, from chance finds and surviving earthworks, to rescue missions and human bones.

19th September 2024: Marina Cochrane – Family Histories and Heritage
Marina Cochrane is a Researcher & Art Specialist, and is related to Winifred Cochrane, Countess of Dundonald, who owned and lived at Gwrych Castle.
We will reveal more about the nature of his lecture in due course.
